Our Small Town is Recognized as Awesome

6/13/2024 (Permalink)

Paris, TN, which is the home base for SERVPRO of Henry, Benton, Humphries, & Hickman Counties, has been named one of "50 most charming small towns in America" by HGTV.

They have described our pleasant hometown as follows: "Home to a 70-foot replica of the Eiffel Tower, Paris, TN draws visitors to its historic district and winery. It's also known for hosting the World's Biggest Fish Fry where the town serves more than five tons of catfish every year. Reel in your own catch at Paris Landing State Park, shown here, or golf, swim and camp."

There are many great attractions our town is able to offer the tens of thousands of visitors we host throughout the year and couldn't be more proud to be a part of such a "charming" community.

SERVPRO Balloon Arch Float SERVPRO of Henry, Benton, Humphries, & Hickman Counties

April is a huge time in Henry County (Paris, TN) as we celebrate the World's Biggest Fish Fry at the end of the month.  This is a widely recognized event as over 90,000 people (from at least 12 different states) visit the fish tent at the fairgrounds where they enjoy the over 12,000 pounds of catfish that is cooked during the week.

The week is capped off with a Community wide parade that lasts over 2 hours from start to finish.  The whole town shuts down and when I say the whole town shuts down, you have to drive to a different town if you want to do any banking that day because nothing is open, not even the banks.

SERVPRO of Henry County loves to participate in the parade.  This year we blew up over 400 ballons to decorate our float with big 'ol ballon arches.  Our team made a great turn out and represented our company well!

Wind Damage

2/22/2023 (Permalink)

What should you do if you have windy conditions in your area? Take cover next to a building or under a shelter. Stand clear of roadways or train tracks, as a gust may blow you into the path of an on oncoming vehicle. Use handrails where available on outdoor walkways and avoid other elevated areas such as roofs without adequate railing. Watch for flying debris. How do you prepare for windy conditions? you can start by trimming branches away from your house and power lines. Secure loose gutters and shutters. Identify an interior room of your house, such as a basement or interior bathroom, that you can take shelter in during high wind warnings. High sided vehicles are most affected by windy weather, but strong gusts can also blow a car, cyclist, motorcyclist or horse ride off course. This can happen on open stretches of road exposed to strong crosswinds, or when passing bridges or gaps in hedges. Fun Facts about windy conditions you may ask? The fastest winds in the world are found inside tornadoes, where winds speeds can reach more than 250 miles per hour. The wind shapes the planet we live on, in the process of erosion. Winds can be known as a breeze, a gale, a storm or hurricane winds. Meteorologists use barometers to measure air pressure. If you ever have windy damage to your home you should be sure to call SERVPRO and we will take care our you make your damage "Like it never even Happened"

What to do about frozen pipes

1/5/2023 (Permalink)

If a pipe bursts in your home, you’ll need to act fast to mitigate additional damage. It is important to know where your shut off valves are. Shut off your water as quickly as possible. This will help minimize the amount of water that seeps out inside your walls. You may also want to shut off power in the affected area of your home. After you’ve taken these precautionary steps, it’s time to call SERVPRO. Try to remove as much of the water and lingering moisture as you can to avoid mold and mildew buildup. Calling a plumber would be really helpful to fix any broken pipes so that more water does not spread and make your situation worse.

Staying Prepared with an Emergency Readiness Profile (ERP)

8/25/2022 (Permalink)

What happens when a main water line bursts inside the building, or, when someone detects the smell of gas in the air while the building is being heated? When severe weather strikes, do your managers know where to go, and where to send your customers? What happens when a tornado, hurricane, or flood impacts your business directly? Communication is the key of course, but without the proper plan, there is nothing to communicate on a consistent level.

An Emergency Ready Profile is what separates guessing from an actual plan of attack should something detrimental happen to your business. Here at SERVPRO of LBL South, we have an entire team of professionals who, upon request, will come to your business, and complete your Emergency Ready Profile (ERP) for you. We will ask you some questions in reference to points of contact, service providers, etc., and then we will take care of filling in the remainder of the form. Once completed, you will be provided a copy to share with your managers, and insurance providers, and we will keep a copy as well. In the rare event disaster does strike, you will be prepared, and SERVPRO of LBL South will already know how to respond.

To get your ERP completed, please contact our office at (731) 642-1284 for more information and to schedule a visit by our Sales and Marketing Representative.
